Describes much of the empirical basis linking parental involvement with improved educational outcomes, but also offers practical guidance about an array of strategies for increasing such involvement at multiple levels, and describes a nationally recognized framework to guide parental involvement initiatives.

Provides a biennial survey on the mental health status of the U.S. population; the providers and settings for mental health services; the types of mental health services and rates of utilization; and costs and sources of funding for mental health services. Biennial reports available since 2002.

Monitoring the Future

Provides an annual survey of 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students on alcohol and drug use (e.g., inhalants, amphetamines, cigarettes). In 2010 over 46,500 students reported current 30-day, annual, and lifetime use, as well as perceived harmfulness and availability of drugs. Yearly reports are available since 1975.
