Monitoring the Future National Survey Results on Drug Use, 1975-2015: Key Findings on Adolescent Drug Use

Analyzes data from repeated cross-sectional surveys that examine adolescent drug, alcohol, and substance use since 1975. Includes tables and charts for each type of drug and also breaks data out by subgroup. Findings indicate that despite the declines in the past 5 years, across the very broad spectrum of drugs (more than 50 classes and sub-classes) none exhibited a statistically significant increase in the past year, however marijuana attitudes among students continued to move toward greater acceptance.

SAMHSA Disaster Mobile App

Shares information about the new SAMHSA Disaster free app that is designed to help responders be ready, be prepared, and be confident in the event of an emergency. Users can navigate pre-deployment preparation, on-the-ground assistance, post-deployment resources, and more—at the touch of a button from the home screen. Users also can share resources, like tips for helping survivors cope, and find local behavioral health services. And, self-care support for responders is available at all stages of deployment.

Get KnowBullying, the Free App from SAMHSA that Can Prevent Bullying.

Shares information about SAMHSA's "KnowBullying" free app that can help parents talk their children about bullying. This app features strategies to prevent bullying for ages 3-6, 7-13, and teens; lists of warning signs to recognize if children are engaged in bullying, being bullied, or witnessing bullying; reminders to talk; and strategies for using social media to share success stories and offer advice. 

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Offers a 24 hour, toll-free, confidential suicide prevention hotline that is available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. By dialing 1-800-273-TALK(8255), the call is routed to the nearest crisis center in our national network of more than 150 crisis centers. The Lifeline’s national network of local crisis centers provide crisis counseling and mental health referrals day and night.

The report offers examples, strategies, frameworks and tools for selecting, funding, implementing, improving, and sustaining evidence-based and promising practices within systems of care.

Presents an example of how multiple Evidence Based Practices can be leveraged across several service providers to meet a range of mental health needs for children and youth. While a system of care such as this could potentially meet the needs of the majority of families in a community, the extent to which there is community capacity to implement these programs should be carefully assessed.
