National Resource Center’s Evidence-Based Module Series

The National Resource Center’s (NRC) Learning Portal is home to a number of interactive, self-paced, learning modules including the recently updated evidence-based module series. This series of interactive modules guides participants through the process of selecting, preparing for, and implementing evidence-based programs (EBPs) in school settings.

Like all NRC self-paced learning modules, the evidence-based programs series is broken into three different modules, each one building on the teachings from the previous module.

  • Module 1: Selecting Evidence-Based Programs for School Settings

This module offers strategies and tools for identifying and selecting evidence-based programs (also known as EBPs). The module also discusses how to integrate into your selection process the needs of your population, your school and community, the stakeholders who can serve as valuable partners, and the resources available to your school.

  • Module 2: Preparing to Implement Evidence Based Programs in School Settings

This module covers strategies to prepare for implementing evidence-based programs, such as data collection, engaging stakeholders, and assessing and building readiness.

  • Module 3: Implementing Evidence-Based Programs in School Settings

This module picks-up from where module 2 leaves off and continues to build on the steps to preparing for program implementation. The module closes with examples of successful program implementation.

This self-paced method of learning allows participants to navigate through each module, step-by-step, by listening or reading each section. Periodically throughout the training, interactive activities and quizzes appear, making the modules engaging while also reinforcing the modules learning objectives. At the end of each module, the participant receives worksheets, tools, and resources to help participants put what they have learned into practice, and they also have the opportunity to share their feedback through a feedback form at the end of each module.
