Delaware Project LAUNCH serves children and families in the City of Wilmington in New Castle County, specifically those living in the ZIP codes for Warner Elementary School and Evan G. Shortlidge Academy (19802, 19805, and 19806). This community of focus is an impoverished area with higher rates of crime and violence, physical and mental health issues, unemployment, and other related problems and risk factors. Living in poverty and exposure to violence are known to increase the risk of developmental delays and social and emotional problems. Delaware Project LAUNCH seeks to change the direction of the community by promoting positive social and emotional growth and development.
