State Grantee Adobe Call for SS/HS Summit Presentations

Event Date:
March 30, 2016 - 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EDT
Project:
Safe Schools / Healthy Students

The National Resource Center Communication Team looks forward to joining you at the SS/HS Summit in May! Each SS/HS state has accomplished a great deal with SS/HS funding, and the Summit is an opportunity to share successes and strategies going forward.

To that end, each state is asked to prepare an “Ignite presentation” which will be shared on the first morning of the meeting and build on the Summit pre-work in which you are already engaged.

What is an Ignite Presentation… and How Does It Help YOU?

An Ignite presentation consists of 20 slides that are automatically timed to advance every 15 seconds. That’s only 5 minutes—right in line with the Ignite motto, “Enlighten us, but make it quick.” The Summit’s Ignite presentations are a chance to share your story and better understand the work of other states.

Beyond the May meeting, however, you’ll be able to adapt your presentation into a tangible communication product that you can use in a variety of ways to support your sustainability efforts. Learning to build and present an effective Ignite presentation is a real-world communication skill you’ll be able to use again and again.

Our March 30th call will provide you with:

·         A PowerPoint template to use

·         “How To” guidance for crafting your slides

·         A demonstration of an Ignite presentation
